It is one of the adventurous waterfalls and is bit scary when viewed for the first time. It is known for its boat rides in little dry season. It is strictly advisable to avoid this place during rainy season and also during monsoons. It is a major site of tourist attraction.

Hogenakkal Falls are not a single waterfalls but they are a series of falls. There are many waterfalls all over the place that it feels spectacular. It is spread over a kilometer or so and every part of the view is so beautiful and feels like nature god has bestowed his leisure time in making this.
Travel:
It is about 200 kms from Bangalore and can be completed in a days trip (morning to night). This place can be reached in the following route, get on to NICE Road and drop down on Hosur Road, Reach Krishnagiri and then Dharmapuri. Once you reach Dharmapuri, it is around 45 kms to Hogenakkal Falls.
It becomes a pleasure drive when you are approaching the falls as the noise of the river is soothing and at the same time gets louder and indeed will give a feeling of piercing through your ears.
Food:
On the way to one can find many highway eat outs ranging from Cafe Day, McD to Kamat and Udipi Uphar for breakfasts and meals.
Stay:
Since it is categorized as single day shortest trip I am not recommending any accommodation facilities. However, one could stay in Dharmapuri Town which is around 45kms from this falls.
Best Time to Visit:
It is strictly advisable to avoid this place during rainy season and also during monsoons. Best time to visit would be in the dry seasons when the waters are less harsh and show a peacful nature. During this time it is easy to ride a coracles (Tappe) safely.
