Nandihills is a famous destination if you are looking for a pleasant day with some good nature. It is the nearest hills for Bangalore and worth a visit anytime. It is a good place for relaxing and also a thrilling drive upto the hills. There are tens of hair pin curves which offer sensational driving experience and is easily accessible from Bangalore. It is highly recommended to be on top of the hills in the morning for a beautiful sunrise. Mind you the place is also ruled by Monkeys and they are in abundance.

There is a Shiva temple at the top of the hill with enclosed with a small kalyani . It is worth a visit and one will find pious environment. This temple is surrounded by many small temples of Ganesha and other gods. These can be reached at walking steps.

Travel:

Nandihills is just 60kms from Bangalore and can be reached in couple of hours or little more. The roads are excellent. One can drive on Airport Road (mind you, the speed is restricted to 80kms/hr, there are speed interceptors watching out for offenders) and go past the Airport (Do not drive to Airport) on Hyderabad road. After about 20 to 25 kms one will find a sign board indicating the left direction to Nandihills from the main road.

Once turned left, do not miss to have tender coconut water for a nice nature drive from there on. at the end of this road you need to once again take a left and drive uphill and reach Nandihills. There are some chips and cool drinks shop just after you take the left, fetch some and drive up the hill. It adds to the joy in case you enjoy the snacks while driving.

Once you reach the top of the hill you should buy a parking ticket which is 50/- for Car. Drive the car into the hill top and park at your convenience.So, watch out your car parking place as the monkeys are generally seen playing on top of the cars.

Food & Snacks: There are couple of decent restaurants where reasonable quality of food can be expected. Also, if food is carried from home to have a sumptuous lunch, you must be aware that Monkey will play spoil sport in your plans. However, one can still manage to have lunch with one of your group members watching and chasing the monkeys away and then takes his turn to eat after the rest are done.



Stay: There are rooms available for stay and should be booked in advance. It is seldom preferred and is not so popular for staying. It is popularly visited as a single day trip.
