TK Falls, Karnataka

TK Falls - Thottikallu Falls

This is a very less known place in bangalore and is nearest water falls for bangaloreans. It is a remote place and is advisable to be visited in groups of 4 to 5 people.
It is just 35kms from Bangalore.

The water falls is a nice view however need to be trekked. It is very adventurous to reach the tip of the water falls. If one is thinking to avoid the trekking then the place has nothing else than the falls. The adventure starts like, walking from the parking place into some plantations, and then reaching a water stream (a short one), this stream need to be crossed by locating the stepping stones/small boulders in case the stream is filled with water(during mansoon). After crossing the stream, the trekking up hill begins and ends at the tip of the water falls. One of the few water falls where people can reach the source of the falls and have fun in the gushing water. It is safe too, i.e. the surface is not slippery.
TK Falls at its best.
However, it is remote and caution should be paid all the time during your stay in the region. There is a small temple at the falls and is less visited, nevertheless the place near the temple is little widespread and one can spend sometime for family sports.

Slippery Trekking during Rains

Again the temple is unreachable in case of heavy rains. The water and the water falls are simply too much during this time.

Travel:
It is just 35kms from bangalore, hop on to the NICE road and drop down to Kanakapura Road. The toll feel from Hosur road to Kanakapura road is 60Rs. Once dropped down on kanakapura road, one must travel 3 kms to Art of living ashrama and further 3 kms to Kaggalipura. Here a left is to be taken to reach nallakannadoddi and the falls which is over 3kms from Kaggalipura.
The parking place is limited, however you could find additional places near the bushes around.

Food & Snacks: Absolutely nothing is available. One must carry food in case planning to have lunch at that location.

Best Time to Visit:  Monsoon, July to October.
