Bhoganadishwara Temple & Muddenahalli, Karnataka

Bhoganadishwara Temple & Muddenahalli

One of the best weekend destinations. A guaranteed satisfaction with the drive. Truly ancient and mind blowing architecture manifesting our ancient culture. A temple of 8th century. The Temple displays different aspects of ancient practices while it also exhibits the magnificent water body called Kalyani. It is less visited and less known as a tourist destination that makes your visit even more special and worthy. The crowd is less and pretty much feels like you are free to move around without worrying about the long queues and unorganized management.

The temple is so pious and auspicious that it is often chosen for weddings. Many couples have authenticated their complete commitment towards each other at this serene place.

The temple hosts many deities at different spots in the premises. It also has a traditional well (olden way of water storage) that's of course abandoned today. It was used for the purposes of deities prayers. The view of this well is so mesmerizing that it draws your mind to the ancient times very quickly.

One another point to note is that this temple is also used by some of the personalities to create their profile pictures and videos. This very act authenticates the architecture that is so remarkable which will make one spend the whole day sitting there if the weather permits.

Muddenahalli
Just 2 Kms away from the temple is Muddenahalli, the birthplace of Sir. M.Visvesvaraya. His ancestral home today houses a museum. It is a must visit place to learn about this great engineer who dedicated his life to Nation Building. His true spirit of modernizing India is commendable and one can see a lot of material sketched at this museum describing these facts. Sir M. Visvesvaraya slogan is well resounding, "Industrialize or Perish".
The only man who honestly opposed Mahatma Gandhi.

Muddenahalli also hosts the tomb of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. It is surrounded with a beautiful landscape and a garden. A natural dinning area is created with the boulders and the rocks for the visitors who carry food from home and want to have meal. There is sufficient water as well for the same.
