Ghati Subramanya is a very powerful and popular pilgrimage center. It is tied up with many super powers and associated beliefs. It is a tradition and belief of devotees that childless couples making vows shall be blessed with children by the lord. A related ritual is that of installing idols of snake, one can see thousands of such idols near the temple.
It is a temple with uniqueness of lord karthikeya is found together with lord Narasimha. It is also an important place for snake worship. The major rituals are performed during Brahmarathotsava, i.e., on the day of Pushya shudda Shashti. Narasimha Jayanti is the other major festival celebrated here.
One can see a serpent idol on the side of the temple front. It is believed to a very auspicious place.
There are two types of darshan queues, one is Dharma Darshan and another Special Darshan. The special darshan will cost Rs 50 per person (excluding children up to the age of 6 yrs)
There is ample amount of parking place right in near the temple. One could leave their foot wear in the vehicle and walk bear foot to the temple. Otherwise there is a foot wear stand as well close to the temple.
Places to Visit:
This is place is near to Nandi Hills. It is around 30mins. So, one can plan a day long trip covering the two places at that worth an itinerary. One can reach Nandi Hills to view a sunset.
Travel:
Reaching Ghati Subramanya is very simple as it is situated at a shorter distance from bangalore and also the roads are very good till the temple. Hop on to the Airport Road and cross the Yelahanka (do not get on to the road of Doddaballapur from Yelahanka as it will not be a pleasant drive) and continue to travel on the NH7 till Chikkajala. After reaching Chikkajala, one must continue on the NH7 but with caution, please keep a watch on the sign boards. After a some kilometers, you see a board directing towards Ghati Subramanya, this turn comes just before the Nandi Hills Turn. This road, you will see a Gitam University and College, (if you see you are on the right road), this road will eventually lead you to the destination (overall distance would be 60+kms) Time it takes to reach is 2 hours.
Food:
There is nitya anadanam (food offered in the temple premises. Other option to carry food from home and have it under any Tree shades. This option is quite preferred by the travellers/devotees.
There are some petty shops offering nice munching snacks however pay caution to choose the best and hygienic one.
Stay:
This is an half day to one day trip and seldom an option to spend more than that to worry of stay

In the month of Oct - Dec as the weather is good. Otherwise anytime of the year.
