Bheemeshwari has a river rafting facilities and is slightly risky and should be opted only when the waters are not full and remain peaceful. It is said that the undercurrents pose threats. However, at some banks, there are some local folks offering a ride in a Tappe (raft, like a bowl type made of bamboo) and charge around 20/- per person to cross the stream and reach the other side of the bank. One can spend sometime at the other side of the river and return in the similar Tappe back.

Travel:
Traveling to Bheemeshwari is pretty much fun and easy. There are two most sought after routes.
Route 1: Bangalore- Kanakpura -Sathnur Junction - Muttati - Bheemeshwari
Route 2: Bangalore - Mysore road - Maddur - shivanasamudra road till Malvalli - Algor - Bheemeshwari
Route 1 is preferred as the road takes you parallel to the river and it is very scenic. The noise of waters gushing is very joyous and children will specifically like it the most. It roughly takes 2 and half to 3 hours to reach Bheemeshwari and the time is worth it. This route is around 120kms. The Route 2 is less preferred as it is 10 or 15kms more and has no nature spots driving parallel to river. It is easy to drive in this route.
Always have your vehicle filled with gas as once you cross Kanakapura or Mysore, you will seldom see a petrol station.
In case you run out of the gas at the location, there are localities who sell petrol for almost double the amount in Bheemeshwari and you buy to emerge out of emergency. This is sold at the famous temple.
Food & Snacks: No food is available at that location. It is highly advisable to carry food or reach nearby towns to fetch food. One might find some snacks and cool drinks and water to quench quick thirst.
